I didn't realize until just a few seconds ago that the subject line "Never Again Be Obsolete!" is by far not the quickest path to my wallet. In fact, an offering with such a subject line, urging me to buy translation software (presumably, since it came from a company that sells that sort of thing), ended up in my email trash in jig time, as my sense of umbrage at the idea that I would ever consider myself "obsolete" sort of kicked in automatically.

The inbox is quiet this morning, except for a brief note informing me that a pile of work is expected tomorrow. This means I should probably attend to everything I need to do promptly and get it done today.

So what am I doing at my keyboard?

The kids came over this morning, mostly so Galina could do a Skype-consult with Shannon and do a final selection of her wardrobe. When the session was over, I came into the room and noted the nice, yellow, flat-heeled shoes that were on the bed. "They're staying," said Shannon. "There's nothing else that goes with that color."

Such are the mysterious ways of fashion and taste, which is why Galina consulted with Shannon, and not with me.

The battery in the car is dead, and I strongly suspect that the charging device I connected to the terminals does absolutely nothing at all. I will wait until tomorrow morning for Drew to come by and give me a jump start. That may require me to miss the ham breakfast, but such is life.

I figure I have to basically be 99% ready to go by the time I go to sleep tonight, so as to maximize the time available to me tomorrow to do work. The major to-dos at this point involve the kitchen (when is the kitchen not involved?) and the vacuum cleaner (ditto). I can do some laundry while doing other things, and the rest of the items on the list require me to be out of the house.

Onward!

Oh, for a Windows version of iTunes that stands at least a 50% chance of running long enough to be closed without having to call up the Task Manager and kill the nonresponsive process!

Cheers...
