Another day...

I managed to get through the text within TRADOS delimiters (a.k.a. "pretranslated text") by 3 pm yesterday, during which escapade I found another 800 words of duplicated text inside of a rather daunting section of references, which are—generally speaking—of rather odd structure to begin with, so I didn't really pay attention to it the other day while looking for such duplications.

In any event, I took a "break" in the middle of my work and decided to translate the reference section, which also gave me an opportunity to review the delimited text.

So here I sit, with around 11,000 words of "new" material left, interspersed with about 8,000 words in "pretranslated" segments.

Theoretically, I ought to be finished with the first draft of the translation on Wednesday.

But that won't happen if I don't get to it.

The frozen pizza will be ready in 5 minutes. Just enough time to check in.

I translated far enough into the remainder of the file to chalk up 3,000 words of new material. It took a while, but I did it.

The sky is filled with lightning and I can hear the rain beating down outside.

Galina dropped her sister at the aiport, and FlightAware confirms that my sister-in-law's flight took off 7 minutes ago, a mere 3 hours, 24 minutes behind schedule. (Thunderstorms in NY, too.)

I need a rest, and some food.
