Happiness is getting caught up with...
Nov. 3rd, 2011 08:50 pmGalina pulled into the driveway late in the afternoon, having escaped the metropolitan rush hour. We've since unloaded the Ford, fed the animals, eaten dinner (leftover curried chicken with veggies), whereupon Galina retreated to the bedroom and I'm up in the study, tidying up.
Work came in today labeled "no rush," which I usually find unsettling, but I decided to take the instruction at its word. I went to the bank and deposited a check, then stopped by a Thai place near the bank and had their pad thai, which frankly was not as good as the version I had when I stopped for dinner in Garden City, Kansas during the first day of my trek to New York. Still, it was filling. If nothing else, I learned that "Sarin" means "goddess" in Thai (the reason I asked is because "sarin" is also the name of a nerve agent, one that was released in the Tokyo subway system in 1995 in a domestic terror attack).
Time to slow down and join Galina.
Cheers...
