When I opened the back door to let the dog out this morning, I was struck by how much warmer it seemed to me to be outside the house than inside (the heat was off last night, as there is something wrong with the mechanism that keeps the heating water hot, I believe), and as I drank the morning's first cup of coffee, it occurred to me that the warming trend might have had a positive effect on the blewit patch out behind the bedrooms.

My guess turned out to be right. While the quantity of blewits was not enormous, there were enough mushrooms to fry up with some late morning fried eggs. One of the fruiting bodies split apart when I picked it from the ground, affording a fairly good view of its cross section.

Later in the day, I baked a loaf of gluten-free bread, and the result was edible (although the recipe could probably stand some additional salt and maybe honey—or molasses—instead of sugar), but I really need to find a recipe for this kind of bread, because the mix I bought locally cost almost as much as a ready-made loaf from the local natural foods store.

I missed about every opportunity to exercise today, but according to the fitbit stats, I've not exactly been sedentary today, either.

Here's looking at a good, active, Thanksgiving week.

Cheers...
