I hadn't realized that "the southern route" through Pennsyulvania ("the northern route" being I-80) involved driving the Pennsylvania Turnpike, at nearly $20 per vehicle for the toll. So we departed Carlisle headed south on I-81, and continued to Hagerstown, Maryland, where we picked up I-70 west, and then I-68 west, and then I-71 north, which got us past the Turnpike.

We covered very nearly 1000 km for the day before settling down in Cloverdale, Indiana. (Somehow, my trip odometer display got switched from miles to kilometers, and attempting to switch it back just cleared the 358 km figure from the day before).

Another day on the road today. We had best get to it.

Cheers...
