As hinted in yesterday's post, we've got feelers out to see if there's interest in renting our Pagosa house starting later this year, which of course makes us subject to the unwritten "rules" of having the house ready to show, which mostly have to do with the place being more or less spic-and-span at all times.

Between getting the place into Potemkinesque condition (do not, I beg you, look in the storage area under the stairs), dealing with emails, and recording a webcast about dog adoption, I only got down to work in the early afternoon, and put another 3,300 words past my fingertips. The tightness of my schedule over the next week has not changed much, although incoming work from the same client who is waiting for The Seven Job™ is starting to pile up and may impact work next week.

The monotony of work and cleaning was broken when both Shiloh and Thumper began to growl in a direction off to the side of the house this morning. Coming past the corner of the house, I saw one of our neighbor's black dogs—he has three, now, and I coudln't tell if the dog this morning was one of the pair that had made Shiloh's life so difficult last year. Shiloh, understandably, hung back, but there was no stopping Thumper, who advanced boldly, yapping for all he was worth.

The intruder withdrew, with Thumper hard on his heels (and Shiloh keeping up, about a dozen yards in back of Thumper). I brought up the rear of this caravan, yelling for Thumper to stand down, because if the intruder was able to join up with our neighbor's other two dogs, well... tables would certainly have been turned, and I shudder to think what might have transpired.

I tried starting the car in advance of the showing this morning, but it would not start. I am back to thinking the problem lies with the starter, and might possibly be temperature related, but I guess I really won't know until I have a mechanic take a look at it. And that won't happen until some client checks show up in the mail.

Time to go to sleep. I'm looking forward to a productive day tomorrow!

Cheers...
