No wonder it took me so long!?
Nov. 7th, 2012 06:42 pmI got a little overconfident about my ability to deliver what in the end turned out to be 14,000+ target words by last night, and the overly telegraphic style of the source text made the job only harder. However, I finally sent the thing off a bit after lunch, after which Galina and I went out, which eventually became a shopping expedition, first for pet food, and then for stuff at Sam's Club.
The plate is far from empty, but there's some room to breathe.
So I'm breathing. (It beats the alternative.)
* * * I'm making progress with Dokuwiki on the Raspberry Pi. If I could figure out a way of getting the manual onto my setup (short of brute-force copying of what's available online), it'd be only better.
I have had an order in to Allied Electronics for the new, 512-MB version of the RPi, but their web site is pretty shy about specifying a ship date, saying only that the item is backordered for "months." Just for laughs, I went to the Newark web site a few minutes ago and ordered one there, too. And while this one is also backordered, at least I've been given a ship date (of December 12, in case anyone is interested).
The alternative, of course, is to just bite the bullet and pay 50% or more over the MSLP to get a unit via Amazon, but since the one I have is doing just fine, thank you, I'm simply going to wait until an upgraded unit gets here and then cancel the other order.
Cheers...
