A curious side-effect...

Not to sound overly confident, but so far, my work machine has not exhibited any of the problems that it did before yesterday's repair activities. I am encouraged.

So encouraged, in fact, that I again attempted to update the firmware on my iPhone (to iOS 7). My most recent attempt to do so, which failed with error messages during previous attempts (yesterday and the day before) appears to be proceeding (i.e., has passed the point where I had been repeatedly pelted with a "3004" error, which is one of those tricky errors that can be caused by almost anything, based on about half an hour of research on my web browser).

My, my... the procedure has completed successful (although the first thing I note is that about a half gig of free RAM has disappeared... hmmm?).

Update of phone carrier settings.... hmmm... error 0xE000065. Drat. (Aha! I need to go through the "welcome" rigamarole on the phone before this works.)

Hmmm. Now, after all the dust has settled, I appear to have 3.28 GB free on the phone. I wonder what got deleted? (At first glance, it looks like the video is gone. No big loss...)

Ah, well... it's back to work for me!

Moving along smoothly...

Got a bill for medical services in Moscow. Its magnitude suggests that it's only a portion of what my bill actually was. I suppose I'll get some clarification tomorrow.

Work went well today. I handled all the gotta-be-done-by-the-end-of-the-month stuff and some other materials as well. I later found out I really dislike shopping for cars. The good news in that area is that there's really only one finicky buyer in our family (not me).
