The Zip drive I ran across a while back actually works. I proved this by connecting it to my Linux laptop and inserting a Zip disk that surfaced while rummaging through a box. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, it's an external drive that—back in the day—provided an absolutely insane 100 megabytes of storage on a single removable disk. (Yes, I know... hard to believe!)

Today, I have translation assignments whose files, when all is said and done, could not be shoehorned onto one of those Zip disks.

Which is not to say that said assignments are that much larger—in terms of contained information—than before, only that all the files, taken together, weigh in at more than 100 MB.
