HP woes, again...
Mar. 5th, 2015 10:26 pmI did not pay particularly close attention to the level of different color inks in my OfficeJet 6100 a couple of weeks ago, when I determined that the yellow cartridge had run out, but I seem to recall the level of the other colors (magenta and cyan) was about 10%–15%.
After replacing the yellow cartridge and waiting for the unit to wheeze and burp its way to an operable state, I sent a document to the printer and... nothing.
I checked the colors again, and now the magenta and cyan were out (and black was at ~15%).
This leads me to conclude that when the printer "clears" its jets, it spews a significant amount of ink through them to accomplish the task, because even if I'm wrong and there was only 5% left of the magenta and cyan when last I checked, that means the unit will go through one complete set of cartridges after 20 cleaning cycles without printing a single page!
And the ink is not cheap, either. Ye gods.
* * * No work today, but I managed to get some other stuff done nonetheless. On the one hand, it wasn't as much as I had hoped, but it was more than I've been able to accomplish over the past few days.
Cheers...
