Nervous Saturday morning...
Mar. 14th, 2015 01:13 pmFew things are apt to raise my eyebrows than Yet Another Windows Update™, which occurred upon starting my machine this morning. (For all I know, I downloaded the update on Thursday, because with all the medical stuff I did yesterday, the computer stayed off.)
The percentage shown on the screen remained at 16% for so long that I began to really worry, because the admonition "do not turn off your computer" is one of those no-kidding-around instructions that is all but guaranteed to turn around and bite you in the butt if you don't follow it.
About a half hour and three reboots later, my machine came back up. It must've been one serious update, though a quick look through the Web didn't uncover any news stories about it.
Off to work. I've got almost 5000 source words due for Monday morning.
It's good to be back.
