A long day...
Sep. 15th, 2015 10:40 pmI spent most of the morning... no, make that pretty much all of the morning despeckling an assignment. In the end, I came to the tentative conclusion that going to the trouble of OCRing source documents for this particular client just isn't worth it.
Then again, part of the reason things took so long was Word crashing, and not realizing—until it was too late—that the program's kind offer to let me save a "repaired" version (where no repairs were shown) actually masked a subtle change to a number of mathematical expressions in the document, to wit: variable names were haphazardly reformatted to display as "small capitals."
I was not a happy camper.
Later in the day, Windows crashed so hard that Office 365 didn't "come to" for a while. That, or it was Office 365 that caused the whole thing by "losing consciousness" to begin with.
Tai chi went well. I got a good workout.
Time to get ready for sleep. Lots to do tomorrow.
Cheers...
