Serendipity...
Apr. 5th, 2016 10:48 pmSome time ago, I picked up an OttLite with 30 "daylight" LEDs to help illuminate my work area, as I'm finding that a nice, bright light makes the work go faster (especially when it comes to keying figures that I later scan and send along with translations).
The only problem is that the unit is simply a glutton for batteries, and what makes it worse is that batteries still have a significant quantity of "juice" left in them when they have to be replaced (because the light has become too dim for me to use).
Fortunately, I happened to run across a power converter that I've had for years, which was sold with a set of plugs of different size, thus allowing one to configure a wide range of power supplies, which in my case includes the 4.5-V positive-tip power supply required by the OttLIte (which takes an oddball small sized plug).
Galina spent most of the afternoon over at Natalie's house, which is again on the rental market at precisely the wrong time of the year.
In other news, just installed WhatsApp on my phone and tried messaging Natalie, got hold of some guy named Richard instead. Spooky. I'm not sure the app is going to last long on my phone.
Cheers...
