An industrious Saturday...

And yesterday was something of a milestone, as it marked my starting a course of chemotherapy for the affliction that... afflicts me. (Yes, a lousy choice—or non-choice—or words, but I'm not competing for any prizes here, y'dig?)
I also unexpectedly got a text from my half-brother Steve, which was a pleasant surprise. I will respond at length and in kind (or "further kind," as I did respond yesterday, briefly) tomorrow. I should probably write a few more letters as well.
Galina and I came back from grocery shopping this morning with—among other stuff—some kind of round coffee pastry thing that was maybe 15-inches in diameter and slathered in tons of white sugar frosting. Upon trying it, Galina deemed it inedible. I tried a bite, and agreed. We then went about our business.
For some reason, we never imagined... that Shiloh would, in our immediate absence from the kitchen, make off with whole blessed remainder of the thing and consume it so thoroughly that not a single crumb was left! I mean, the plastic tray was licked clean!
We spent most of the afternoon with an eye on Shiloh, awaiting some sign that Providence was about to punish her for her transgression, but so far... nada. I am, frankly, happy that she seems no worse for wear.
In the afternoon, I managed to translate the second half of a 10,000-word job due Monday. I'm at a good point to stop today, leaving the major despeckling (which includes formatting and making sure the graphics are done right) for tomorrow.
Somewhere around the late middle of the afternoon, I decided to take it easy, so I watched The Guardian, starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher (gee, only a decade after the film came out!). I enjoyed the film (except for what I thought was a hokey ending) and observed that it had to be an absolutely fantastic recruiting vehicle for the U.S. Coast Guard!
Time to go take meds and then hit the sack. Tomorrow is going to be a big day!
