Not quite full circle...
Sep. 6th, 2016 02:43 pmSo several months ago, I decided to subscribe to a service called DeepDyve, which basically allows you to read a whole lot of journal articles that are normally paywalled to prevent access by the hoi polloi. The idea was to be able to check out various academic articles and glean terminology for stuff I was working on.
Yesterday, I received bacn from the site, informing me of recently added articles in which I might be interested (seeing as how I was reading "related" articles). There, at the top of the list, was one of the articles I was translating when my usage of the service was high.
My usage has since dropped off, as many of the journal articles I look for are not available at the site, or are available on other sites. In fact, I need to add DeepDyve to the list of "vampire" charges that are sucking at my credit card bill.
Cheers...
