Mar. 12th, 2017 09:41 pmSo today, I made the eggplant "caviar" (the recipe for which I posted last Sunday). For some reason, I misremembered "some chopped green pepper" as "two chopped green peppers," which really didn't matter, in the end, because I only added one-and-a-half chopped green peppers. The resulting quantity looked gynormous in the saucepan (more like a wok, actually), but it fit into something reasonable, and is currently cooling in the refrigerator.
It would appear that different cooks use different "filler" for the caviar. Mrs. Rennenkampf used green pepper; Galina prefers to use carrots. It's all good.
Can't wait for tomorrow.
