Embracing the suck...
May. 10th, 2017 10:05 amMea culpa, I sent in an insurance premium wa-a-ay too close to the deadline, yet the venerable USPS reported that my envelope was deposited in the company's post office box at 3 am on the due date. However, this did not stop the company from claiming they didn't receive the payment until the following Monday, resulting in a cancellation and unpleasantness, at least for me (for the company, it represents an opportunity to hike my rates further).
On the work front, I am faced with a rather long document that has been formatted "by hand," e.g., centering of section headings was done by moving the left margin and eyeballing the centering. This doesn't work so well when the length of said section headings change, as they invariably do when they are translated into another language. Would that this was the extent of the silliness.
Still, all grumbling aside, I am grateful to be alive, and if all my problems were as weighty as these, I think I'd be a happy camper.
Cheers...
