Amazon sent me a check for something like $1.42 for an unspecified "refund." Thank goodness the bank accepts deposits via its smartphone app.

I managed to return 3 jobs to my client today. One large job is left; I hope to get it done by tomorrow.

My LISP programming skills, um, suck. Mostly because I have no LISP debugging skills. Film at 11.

I am definitely miffed that a number of modern, expensive, mercury-containing light bulbs appear to lasting nowhere near as long as old-fashioned, cheap, and non-toxic incandescents. Had I kept receipts and records of service hours—well... probably nothing much would change, but at least I'd be able to confirm or dispel a sneaking suspicion that the money that I was supposed to save by using bulbs that are more energy efficient has been put into the pockets of the cretins who sell energy-efficient bulbs that give up the ghost within a year or so of installation.

I should not hit the rack with negative thoughts bounding around between my ears. So, I'm going to go do something about it.

Hope all y'all have a good night.

PG&E gave away CFLs when they first came out. Riverside Lighting in Santa Cruz had a display of them. I asked the guy how many I could take and he said he didn't care - take all I wanted. So I took two flats, one of each wattage. Like you said, they're crap. They go out faster than incandescents and you have to treat them as hazardous waste. I've switched to LEDs now as much as possible, and I've already had an LED go dead. You can't win.

I still have about half a flat of CFLs left of each wattage and I'm still trying to give them away. It's hard to find takers even for freebees...
