So there I am, quietly working away, when I get a third call asking if I can do a short Web-page translation. No rush, says my client, just get it done in the next couple of days or so. I say yes, of course.

But I'm rapidly reaching my limit. The good thing is that today's new assignments both come with electronic originals, which will give me an opportunity to use SDLX on them. In theory, the tool will make things go faster, and I really need things to "go faster" now that I have a full (overfull?) plate.

It's dinnertime. Galina's back from the store and I have 4 more pages to do to satisfy my self-imposed schedule to complete all this stuff on time. I've already spilled the beans about having thrown over the fast in the early afternoon, and Galina's asking "What are we going to eat?"

I think I will take a break from this drilling platform specification and go make something to eat.

Cheers...

What does the SDLX do for you?

It acts as a "translation memory," organizing the work and comparing my "old" translations against "new" sentences. I'll probably bore everyone to death with a more detailed post.

Gald to hear the work is rolling in. I've got some security docs that I need to run for a friend's company. Does SDLX run your docs to a server outside or not? As you know the neft biz is a bit paranoid, with reason, and I don't want to run these things outside my machine.

Well, the application is not supposed to talk to the outside world, absent the online "registration" of the software on the machine. (And I don't think it does anything like that, BTW, I'm just answering in paranoid mode.)

Cheers...
