Galina and I attended a Fourth of July party and had a pretty decent time. The guest of honor, so to speak, was a 103-year-old friend of the hosts, and it seemed to me she got around better than some of us younger folk.

We all went outside to take in the local fireworks, which were pretty snazzy. I'm guessing from the time delay between burst and explosion (on the order of a second), that the launch site was not far off. Not far off also was someone flying a drone... into the thick of things. Presumably, the odds of the vehicle getting hit by a projectile from a firework are pretty low, but still...

We got home late, so I "slept in" until 6 am. I got a good dollop of work done, but then OCR slowed me down.

Tai chi went well, except that I suffered information overload, so it'll take me a while to remember what I learned.

Meanwhile, I am very, very tired.

Morpheus, catch me!

People's local backyard fireworks are getting more and more sophisticated.

True. We saw some of that on the drive home. But the display outside where the party was held surely had a five-figure price tag!

Cheers...

P.S. I cannot make out your userpic. It has the "feel" of the iconic Rosenthal photo on Iwo Jima, but past that, I am clueless.

It's an American flag on a pole.
