DSL observation...

In a wild paroxysm of abandon, I set about downloading about six different large files (RealAudio of old Jean Shepherd radio shows) via our newly installed DSL link.
Each download indicated a throughput of about 7 kbps. And the numbers showing up in the dialog boxes seemed to confirm this. That made for an overall throughput of 42 kbps.
Not bad.
The Linksys DLS router showed up today. I think I will wait until tomorrow to deal with it.
Next problem: for some reason the user names and passwords I established for the Dells equipped with Windows 2000 Pro do not seem to work. There had got to be a way to worm my nefarious way into their hard drives and set things right. Any tips?
Cheers...

Re: Comp fixins
Date: 2001-12-20 06:55 pm (UTC)It's been a while since I've used those machines, which may explain why the names and passwords I set up don't work.
What happends if I, um, reset the clock back a ways via the BIOS?
Cheers...

Date: 2001-12-20 11:23 pm (UTC)We have a BEFSR11 (1-port Ethernet router), and it's been *nothing* but trouble. Drops conmnections all the time, has crappy throughput...and the configuration stuff (web-only, of course) is shit.
