A whizzer...

alexpgpAnother one of those days that simply speeds by, without so much as a "Howdy-do!"
I got up early, thanks to Ming's incessant whining, and then hit the paper chase hard. So hard, in fact, that we were almost late for the Cashflow game at 1 pm. I and my partner drew the lawyer's card, and I have yet to see a game in which a lawyer or doctor is even able to "get out of the rat race" (i.e., get to the point where passive income exceeds expenses), much less go on to "win" the game. If I'd had the option, I'd quit the law, move into a smaller house, and continue from there (the times I've won the game were those when I was a truck driver or janitor).
As it turned out, we managed to get our passive income up to about 40% of expenses by the time everyone else had gotten "out" (and several rounds after someone had actually fulfilled the victory conditions for the game).
Afterward, we went over to the kids' house. Huntur grows by leaps and bounds between the times I see her. She has developed a habit of taking one by the finger and "dragging" them to her room, at which point she points to the carpet and says "down!" (The exclamation point is there!)
She then holds court, showing her audience all of her dolls, books, and anything else that may happen to be within reach. She is so cute!
Galina, on the other hand, can hardly move. She did something to her back during the game, and while at the kids' place, could barely get up off the floor once she was down. I hope she feels better in the morning.
Time to go to bed, despite the early hour. I am definitely tired.
