Though I felt good when I arrived at Drew's last night, I faded fast. I left around 8 or so, without having watched any DVD. I fell asleep almost as soon as I got home.

I woke up at 1 am. Interestingly enough, I'd watched the last 15 minutes or so of a show on the Kursk tragedy, and ended up dreaming about doing a translation about the incident (one of those strange "nightmares" I wrote about recently). I driften into and out of sleep (mostly out of) until the alarm went off.

I managed to get to the store and came back soon after. And went to bed. This fatigue is all-consuming. I cannot translate more than a couple of paragraphs at a time.

I went to the doctor. He has set up a date for me with a cardiologist in Durango tonight. Said cardiologist will do a bunch of stuff that will probably include an overnight stay. (I have no idea where the insurance card is.) If I'm lucky, I'll go home tomorrow.

The preliminary diagnosis is that this may be a recurrence of the myocarditis that prostrated me for about a month in 1997 while we lived in Houston, or a case of pericarditis; hence, the visit to the heart doctor.

I do earnestly hope to be posting here again, and soon.

Cheers...

Please take care!

Going for a cardiac eval sounds like a wise and timely move, especially with your history (as you've mentioned it here briefly).

Take care, dear Alex! I've just rediscovered you, so am patiently awaiting your return to good health and wellbeing - if only for your own sake, never mind mine!

:-D

Thank you for your kind wishes. I am very motivated to take care of myself.

Yet I must admit that your words probably made my heart skip a beat or two, as well, when I read them.

Please forgive me if I'm out of line, but your use of the word "rediscover" makes me wonder... no, impels me to ask... a question I don't really know how to phrase, for fear that you are not the person I suspect you may be.

Let me try, though: Did your surname once start with the letter "G"?

Cheers...

I think we've covered this adequately e-elsewhere by now, but just to tie this one off...

We don't have much in the way of a mutual past, it seems, but let's forge onwards into the future, and enjoy the present. With the perpetual cheers, from one whose initial is a wide grin.

Take care, pal. And take it from someone who has also had some cardiac adventures of late -- listen to the docs. Best of luck, and I'll be keeping my thoughts with you and my fingers crossed.
