An unintended early start to the day...
Dec. 12th, 2003 06:00 amThe heat was left on all night, causing me to wake up at 4:30 am in what I shall charitably call a "warm" state. I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't, so I rose at 5 am and am now ready (more or less) to face the day.
My "side" client called me last night around 8 pm, and it became clear that delivery of the Big Assignment was expected early in the day, although I had clearly stated "close of business." So I worked on the text a little, hampered by one of those spells during which Windows Me or Word (or both) simply refuse to cooperate, bouncing into and out of Safe Mode (in the case of Windows) or not running properly, or at all (in the case of Word). I eventually managed to whittle the remaining text down to 2500 words before retiring.
Today is my birthday, according to the calendar, but I don't particularly feel like a "birthday boy," not with all the work and worry that's been part of my life lately. Natalie, however, intends for us to celebrate tonight, which is something I look forward to, at any rate.
Despite having risen eary, I still now have only 15 minutes before I must be on the road to the MCC. Time to get in gear.
Cheers...
