The heat was left on all night, causing me to wake up at 4:30 am in what I shall charitably call a "warm" state. I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't, so I rose at 5 am and am now ready (more or less) to face the day.

My "side" client called me last night around 8 pm, and it became clear that delivery of the Big Assignment was expected early in the day, although I had clearly stated "close of business." So I worked on the text a little, hampered by one of those spells during which Windows Me or Word (or both) simply refuse to cooperate, bouncing into and out of Safe Mode (in the case of Windows) or not running properly, or at all (in the case of Word). I eventually managed to whittle the remaining text down to 2500 words before retiring.

Today is my birthday, according to the calendar, but I don't particularly feel like a "birthday boy," not with all the work and worry that's been part of my life lately. Natalie, however, intends for us to celebrate tonight, which is something I look forward to, at any rate.

Despite having risen eary, I still now have only 15 minutes before I must be on the road to the MCC. Time to get in gear.

Cheers...

Wow. Well, happy birthday, Alex. A very happy one, and may next year be more serene :)

The thing is, mine's on Monday... and (most un-British / Swiss) hugs for that and the work and worries. And celebrate comme il le faut, OK? We Sagittarians, y'know, are supposed to be outgoing (must have missed that bit and am not a great believer in star signs, although apparently we're travellers, which fits!)

My daughter and her boyfriend are 'organising something' for me on Sunday, which I'm extremely surprised and pleased about. Dearest and beloved usually forgets... that and our wedding anniversary the day after. Mind... he might remember 20 years...?

Thanks for the birthday wishes and virtual hug. And before I forget, the same right back at you on the occasion of your birthday.

('s funny, Galina and my anniversary is in December, too, albeit much later in the month. This year, it's that magic 27!)

Cheers...
