A reasonable Sunday...
Feb. 1st, 2004 06:55 pmI get the feeling I could have done more translation today, but as it stands, I've laid 4300 words down on phosphor, and that's enough.
In the meantime, I managed to cook up a pot of borshch with Galina in the morning. We also used the juicer she ordered some time ago for the second time. Moreover, I was upstairs a little while ago and watched the first quarter of The Game with Galina.
All in all, I've been up and down the stairs some today. And I'm happy about that.
The current translation, BTW, is not going to weigh in at anywhere near what was originally advertised (12-15K target words, if memory serves). Heck, it's probably not going to break 9,000 words, although the last few pages are going to eat time since they are rather complicated graphics. Sigh.
Anyway, the morning dawned on something less than an inch of new snow at our elevation. If I overheard Galina speaking with Drew correctly, there's about a foot of new snow up on the mountain. I was able to get rid of the white stuff fairly quickly, after which I took the car and visited the store, fed the fish, and did a little shopping.
Galina is preparing to leave tomorrow, apparently, so again I'm going to wrap this up and go upstairs.
Cheers...
