While I was in Houston, I got a call about another Kazakhstan gig, but the timing was off: I had committed to being in Toronto for the ATA conference, and although in monetary terms it would be unwise to give up the work to go to the conference, I felt the latter was the right thing to do. Maybe if I wasn't doing presentations, or expected to show some leadership in the Slavic Languages Division, I'd have elected to skip the conference, but I said I would do it, so I should. No hero, I; it's just the way I'm built.

Well, a few minutes ago, I got a call telling me the campaign, the start of which has apparently been delayed, is going to start immediately after the conference!

The only salient scheduling issue at this point is whether I'd have to cut my conference attendance short by one day or not. (There are one or two other financial issues, but this is not the place to review them.)

I'm excited.

Cheers...

Yay!

So let me know when it ends and if you can come for a couple of days R&R here after, now you know the way!

We're away (fingers crossed) until November 7, but any time after that...

The American Translators Association is having its annual conference in Toronto this year. (Go figure.)

Thanks.

Now I'm giving serious thought to what Kazakhstan might be like in November. Brrr!

To quote Gilles Vigneault, ce pays n'est pas un pays, c'est l'hiver?
