Making progress...
Oct. 10th, 2004 03:30 pmThe to-do list is mostly shredded. Drew promised to be over this morning, then early this afternoon, and I'm waiting for him now, after he called a little while ago announcing he'd be here in 30 minutes to an hour. We shall see.
I've changed my plans, too. Instead of translating this morning, I got to thinking about where the Civic title would be, based on where I knew it had been before Galina left for Houston, and the general drift of paper in this house. As a result, I basically walked over to a pile of stuff and saw the envelope sticking out from near the top.
One thing led to another, and the next thing I know, I'm into the to-do list while waiting for Drew (figuring there wasn't enough time to get into the translation). Besides actual packing, I have very few things left on the list. I may have to start on the translation -- heck, I want to start on the translation -- and get it done before I leave tomorrow morning.
* * * There is a rumor that the Kazakhstan job is back on, although the dates are still iffy. Thus, I put finding the "Speak French" CD on my list, and my mind only clicked after I checked every CD drive on every computer in the house. I went back to the bedroom and spied the cardboard envelope for our advance copy of L'auberge espagnole, starring Audrey Tautou (who appeared only briefly in the film). Don't ask why, but the "SpeakFrench" CD was in the envelope (I had apparently put it in there to keep it protected... it almost worked too well!).
Gotta get back to work. I really want to get the translation done (at least the text part) before I leave.
Cheers...
