Tying off loose ends...
Jun. 22nd, 2005 11:58 pmNatalie deliberately held off watching Episode 3 until she and I could go see it together, so I figured it'd be somewhat goofy on my part to end up not going. So, I made sure I got what sleep I could before 6 pm and arranged to meet her at the AMC 30 for the 7:15 pm show.
I'll not say there weren't any interesting moments in the film that pushed me toward wanting to care about the characters, there were. Just not enough of them to keep that feeling sustained, that's all. And in the end, all the scenes of battle, murder, and mayhem were simply not enough to keep the movie, um, moving. And tying off loose ends that really needed no tying off (unless you've been hiding in a fallout shelter for the past 30 years) couldn't carry the film, either.
With any luck, maybe I'll see something better before departing for home. Perhaps the flick starring Jolie and Pitt?
Cheers...
