Getting those juices flowing...

My best client just assigned me nearly 18,000 source words due for mid-February. This is pretty good news.
In other news, the new owner of our shopping center has apparently been visiting the postmaster at the downtown post office, with the aim of having the Postal Service take away our contract and award it to him, so that he can continue to have a postal unit in the center after we are gone. I am told the postmaster was not sympathetic to his pitch and that now, the new owner will turn his efforts at convincing Denver that he deserves the contract.
This, of course, is music to my ears.
It represents the second time (at least) that someone has tried to "acquire" my business without first actually approaching me and Galina to try to buy the thing. Such efforts tend to reinforce my "obstinate" streak.
As far as I can tell, the USPS ought to be satisfied with our performance and hasn't any cause to cancel our contract, so we ought to be secure there. On the other hand, "secure" is ironically one of those very fragile concepts in our modern world. Mentally, I think I am prepared for the Worst Case Scenario as far as the store is concerned, but we are far from that juncture at this time.
Having cataloged and quickly reviewed the new translation work, I now need to "turn to" and get some paper-chasing out of the way.
Cheers...
