Spendin' time with Mr. Walker...
Jun. 7th, 2006 08:31 pmI got a call to do a quickie for a Houston client, which I did while waiting for the kids to come pick me up for store duty (as it had rained and I was in no mood to get muddy as well as tired on the trek into work). My reward was a request to do more such rush work, or editing after hours if I couldn't turn the stuff around fast enough.
I declined, saying that I could squeeze in a few hundred words of translation almost any time, but editing was simply not a good use of my time.
Or words to that effect.
Nothing much happened while I was at the store, except being overcome by a feeling that I really didn't want to do much more work qua work today.
So I made some linguine, cracked a can of white clam sauce, and am currently gliding on currents courtesy of one Mr. James Walker, of Kilmarnock, Scotland.
Moreover, they're currents of just the right intensity.
Cheers...

'Quickies' on line?? Watch out the Thought Police don't shut your LJ down!!
Date: 2006-06-08 08:04 am (UTC)Really, Alex, you must watch your step these days ~ talking casually about 'quickies' must be almost as reprehensible (and therefore, presumably, offensive to Someone In Charge) as posting a picture of breastfeeding in one's LJ!!
(That's a joke, son, lest I offend thee...)
It's a crazy old world we live in, and getting crazier by the hour. Even the APOD for this past day ~ volcanic eruption on Aleutian island as seen from space ~ looks like something really 'rude', if one looks at it long enough. (Does anyone know where the circuit breakers for humanity are? I think our wiring has gotten reversely polarized somehow, perhaps in the "o4 Presidential election?)
Hugs....
