Today was, formally, the last Saturday of the shop's business. By next Saturday, we'll have erected a tarp across the front of the store and will be only selling postage and allowing box customers access to their mail, though I get the feeling that that plan is going to change. When I raised the issue of how we're going to stip the store space bare by the 31st, I was told not to make a federal case out of it and that the issue would be dealt with "later."

This makes me nervous.

After closing the shop, Galina met with a local woman who provides expert advice on real estate and on how to rationally renovate properties. Me, I tried to stay out of the way and found that we'd missed our satellite TV payment (because the credit card used to pay the bill is dead). That reminds me... I need to get going with replacements for the credit cards I canceled during the early part of the campaign trip.

There are a lot of things I need to get going on, frankly, but I just don't have the motivation right now.

Cheers...

How much 'later' is LEFT in August??

For a man who flits from Pagosa to ABQ to Moscow to Rocketland and back again twice a year, I'd guess shifting house and shutting down store is WAY more stressful!

Dunno how you manage all the changes, Alex ~ your lady must be a dynamo in her own right! But I'm certainly glad you have so much resilience and good humor to see you through the insane times. Sending energy thoughts and GOOD LUCK wishes your way....
