Return to Moscow...

The train returning to Moscow (the "Megapolis" headed in the other direction) left the station on time at 20 minutes after midnight. About ten minutes later, I took the following shot from our moving railcar. It gives a pretty good idea of what the sky looked like at pretty much the middle of the night around St. Petersburg:

Just as with our trip north, the fourth berth in our compartment was occupied for the trip south. Unlike our companion on the trip north, who was communicative but taciturn, the fellow who accompanied us to Moscow was quite prolix.
And not only did he have a lot to say, but he was one of those people who insists on explaining his crackpot ideas in the kind of fervor one normally associates with folks who have found religion. Personally, I found it more interesting falling asleep.
We really didn't do a heck of a lot today after returning to the apartment. For dinner, we took Alla out to a Japanese place where I saw (and tasted) my first glass of green bamboo beer. While the green beer was okay, I liked the dark unfiltered beer better.
We are homeward bound tomorrow. I should probably go pack.
Cheers...
