As I had no human food in the house and didn't feel like doing the shop-and-cook routine, I stopped at The Outback restaurant on Bay Area yesterday (not to be confused with The Outpost, which is the bar I noted in my previous post, located near the intersection of El Camino Real and NASA Road 1). Once there, I ordered my "usual" (if you can call something you order once in a blue moon the "usual"): a dry Beefeater martini straight up and the house "special," consisting of a steak and steamed veggies.

For some reason, although the martini I ordered was liberally festooned with olives (I like 2-3 olives), I found the Caesar salad to be smaller, the meat to be fattier, and instead of automatically serving me another loaf of hot wheat bread once the first loaf was gone, the waitress had to be asked. On the whole, the experience is no longer what it was.

Unfortnately, taken together with my experience at the Einstein Bros. bagelry, I am detecting a trend. (BTW, I went back to Einstein a few days ago to order the lox-and-cream-cheese special again, hoping that my experience of two Sundays ago was a fluke. If anything, the sandwich I got was even worse than the one I got then.) With that intelligence and 80 cents, I can get some Dolly Madison Zingers out of the vending machines downstairs.

There were radiograms waiting for me when I walked in the door this morning, which set the pace for the day. It's been nearly a solid 4 hours of new radiograms showing up in a steady stream, and because of that, time has passed quickly.

I called our NASDA tenant to set up a time to stop by the house and pick up a couch that's no longer wanted. I need to coordinate that with Lee (since I'll need her help to move the thing). I need to go up to Lee's after work to help her move an initial slug of stuff (bedding, clothes, TV, and whatnot) down to Pearland.

Which reminds me... I need to coordinate some payments and transfers between here and Pagosa and the small stadium full of people who expect to receive money from us on a regular basis.

Cheers...

I Am A: Neutral Good Halfling Ranger Fighter

Alignment:
Neutral Good characters believe in the power of good above all else. They will work to make the world a better place, and will do whatever is necessary to bring that about, whether it goes for or against whatever is considered 'normal'.

Race:
Halflings are short and fat, like minuature people. (Think 'Hobbits') They enjoy the easy life, but aren't averse to the idea of an adventure from time to time. They get along with all races, and are known for their senses of humor. Halflings also tend to be light of foot, and can move quietly when necessary.

Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Secondary Class:
Fighters are the warriors. They use weapons to accomplish their goals. This isn't to say that they aren't intelligent, but that they do, in fact, believe that violence is frequently the answer.
