Another assignment from Lev - 10 pages this time - due tomorrow, was laid at my feet at the end of today's simulation. It was a very quiet simulation, and although there were sections where my interpretation was brilliant, there were also sections where I felt fumble-tongued as I struggled to recall words that had receded far, far into the distance in my brain. Ah, well...

My schedule calls for me to work Execute Package (noon to 8 pm) from tomorrow through Sunday, by which point I'll probably have something else to do.

Traffic coming home was noticeable, to the point of annoying me, but compared to the "traffic" in Pagosa, I really should treat it as a curiosity and try to enjoy it. (Yeah... Right...)

Lee walked in this morning a few minutes after I got up at 6:15 with Dwayne and their friend Judd, from California. All three of them apparently coexist in an online role-playing game called Threshold, and Judd is simply visiting his online buddies. There's nobody home ('cept for me and the cats) as I write this.

One of the cats is sitting stock still at my elbow, at what I call "cat attention" (butt on table, forelegs extended fully), giving me the eye as if expecting me to teach it English, or something. Its eyes are green, and were it not for the twitching ears, I'd swear the animal was the work of a taxidermist.

Anyway, a quick look at the 10 pages shows that the last 4 pages comprise probably 50% of the work, so after I take a short break for an hour or two, I'm going to sit down and put a fairly large dent in it before retiring for the night.

Cheers...

After my last post, I decided to stop by the K-Mart down the street, as it is one of the stores slated to close as a result of that chain's financial difficulties. (That will leave the dismal Wal-Mart the victor on the other side of the street, which is abject testimony to the lack of justice in the world, but I digress...).

Anyway, as I approach the car, I notice my wallet lying on the ground just outside the driver's door. Everything was in it, but my heart gave a little jump when I realized what it was I found. Like most folks I need that stuff in there!

In any event, K-Mart was a disappointment. Most of the good stuff was gone, leaving mostly goods that have been handled and handled, to the point where it's difficult to figure out what's where (nobody's putting stuff back where it belongs). Add to that the rather modest price reductions, and I can't say the visit was worth the time, necessarily.

I returned home and did the assignment Lev had delivered to me at the MCC late today. I surprised myself by doing pretty much all of it - 2400 words - in a little short of 2 hours (I have a couple of abbreviations to look up, which I'll do tomorrow).

Time to just veg out, I guess... :^)

Cheers...
