Today was one of those days that over-the-counter painkiller manufacturers dream of, methinks. Financial pressure was tremendous today; the line of people stretching their digits into my pockets got longer and the numbers involved, larger. (Curiously, there is no waiting over at the line where people who owe me money are supposed to queue up.)

By 10 am, I had a headache the size of Missouri, and impervious to ordinary aspirin. So I'm afraid that between the pressure and the pain, I have not been a pleasant camper to deal with today. Only a second dose, taken later in the day, seems to have done anything, and the relief may not be related, necessarily, to having taken the painkiller.

I should probably check the bank balances, but they won't be going anywhere until tomorrow, so I may as well enjoy what little peace I seem to have stumbled across, rather than work myself up again, in case the news is bad. (Has there ever been good news buried in those numbers?)

On the plus side, here it is, a few minutes after 6, and I have finished 18 pages of the last part of 60K, which technically is my nut for the day. It is not only just about exactly 1/3 of the way through what's left on my plate or this project, but also just about exactly 4000 words. I should probably get a leg up on tomorrow, as I think I'm going to have to make some reminder phone calls, though they should not take up all that much of my time.

Instead of a nap, I watched Animatrix and was not impressed. The stories in the segments were fairly shallow, and I had no problem getting up to get a glass of water in the middle of one of them (I did pause it, but it was not absorbing enough to make me forget my thirst).

So it's back to the face of the salt mine... at least for a little while. It'd be good to get at least two more pages done.

Cheers...

I see that I've put 26 (!) pages and about 5400 words behind me for the day.

If I manage to do the same thing tomorrow (doubtful, as the upcoming pages are a lot denser than the stuff I've been doing today), I'll be nearly finished with the document. Then again, I'm coming into a section on modeling transistors of various kinds, and you would not believe what kinds of parameters one can end up with (reverse saturation current, temperature potential, p-n junction time constant, etc. an nauseam).

Still, it's nice to have accomplished as much as I did today.

Dinner was steamed salmon on stir-fried green cabbage, with sautéed mushrooms on the side. I surprised even myself, it was so good.

Time to do some serious winding down.

Cheers...
