Over the hump...

The big job due today is out the door (or out the wire, as the case may be)! And invoiced, to boot! Hooray!

I was in a foul mood earlier, since some of the financial pressure that's been dogging me appeared to be interfering with my upcoming trip to Houston. My situation is still not a picnic, but I had worked out a tentative plan with Drew yesterday that would've solved a lot of problems, but would have inconvenienced Shannon, who has a perceived need to go to California for a brief visit in the near future, and was hoping to be able to implement that plan, but it is apparently not to be.

In any event, the job is gone, Galina is upstairs, having placed herself in charge of packing for my trip, and I have some things to do before my departure Saturday.

I just got e-mail with my assignments for next week, and they seem to be fairly routine, but I'll have to eyeball them more closely to make sure.

The Perl of my eye, dontcha know...

The kids left for California a couple of hours ago.

I've been keeping myself busy by (finally) getting down to updating some Perl code for Doug and Kat. It's interesting to see where the rust has built up in my understanding and how fast I can come up to speed and figure out a simple way to implement what they want.

The big thing that stands in the way of testing my design is an inability to set up a Linux box (actually an Apache server on same) that will work with their configuration of files.

But I am blathering, and it's late. I'll call them tomorrow to get some questions answered.
