I don't know if my bacon is being saved by my Outpost firewall, which runs a DNS cache of its own, or whether it's just some kind of weirdness with my ISP, but outside a very small circle of web sites (my hope page, LJ, and my email) I keep getting 'site could not be found' messages very consistently, and I've been getting this since mid-afternoon yesterday. One way to better determine where the problem might be would be to try to access such sites from the store, but I as long as the email works today, I'll not fret.

I elected not to go to the ham breakfast this morning on the basis of the principle of three 2s: too dark, too cold, and too tired. As penance, I shall have to optimize the rest of the day (and believe me, there's plenty to optimize!).

Cheers...

Theoretically.

As I left the store this evening, it was starting to snow lightly, but as I look out the window, I can see neighboring lights, so if it's still snowing, it's not snowing very hard. So far, the weather is proceeding along the lines predicted by the weather dweebs, who further predict occasional rain and snow after midnight followed by a day with a 50% chance of snow showers.

Hence my "theoretically" crack. In any event, I plan to be up pretty early, as we'll have to leave by 9:30 am to get to Durango at a reasonable time, and if it should really start to snow tonight... I need to be ready.

I figure it ought to take me about 15 minutes to pack my clothes, but longer than that to make sure I've got all the cables, etc. that come with being a road warrior these days. Again, I come up against a need to carefully consider just what I really need (do I reallyneed my Palm Zire, along with its charger?), but lack the time. It reminds me of the situation of the hole in the roof: only a problem when it rains, and you can't fix it then.

I received and translated a radiogram today and did about 2800 words of the translation due Monday, so I am more or less on track. I need to remember to take along all the paperwork (and all the files I need, too). Criminy.

Clothing truly is the easy part.

Cheers...
