A fast, hard day...
Apr. 20th, 2006 09:16 pmFor the third morning in a row, I was chosen to be among the group of interpeters who are delivered to the hotel at which the Russian delegation is staying, to be aboard the buses that take them to the meeting site. It was no big deal, as the "main group" of interpreters was to leave for the site less than 15 minutes later.
Today was a pretty hectic day, and I acquitted myself well, I think. (There are few moments more precious in a freelancer's life than being able to suggest a good solution to something the client perceives as a problem.) The day passed quickly, as everyone was very busy. I even got to do some translation into Russian.
Even better, I got to mail my sales tax return from the main post office during lunch, managing to send it via Certified Mail, so I have proof the return was mailed on time.
I watched a pretty old movie, The High and the Mighty, starring John Wayne and Robert Stack, and was impressed with the quality of the film. I'm not going to overdo the tube, though. I think I'm going to go to sleep early tonight.
Cheers...
