There is a certain euphoria about a change of scenery, especially if you have good memories of the place to which you're headed.

We bought this house after living in an apartment complex for a year, back when I worked in-house for the NASA contractor that provided Russian language services to JSC, and as I walk around the place now - after having rented it out for a decade to a member of the Japanese astronaut corps - I am gratified at the care our tenants exercised with the place and am experiencing pleasant little shocks of rediscovery (I don't remember there being a closet here!).

Natalie and I went shopping last night for some essentials, and went out this morning to pick up breakfast, too (the gas people are coming out tomorrow). As usual, I was too wrapped around having to finish what turned out to be a 9,000 target word translation (PowerPoint, yech), followed by a second translation of 1,800 target words for tomorrow morning. So while Galina went to Natalie's place to take a shower and bring back the Infiniti she drove to Houston prior to her Russia trip, I was at the computer.

Considering I had already completed 5,800 target words by the time we left Pagosa, the math says I 've put in a 5,000 target word day, which is pretty much what I'm facing tomorrow as well.

I better get some shuteye.

Cheers...
