The day started with a reappearance at the amateur radio breakfast. Everyone was still there, which is always gratifying to see (I'm the "kid" in the group, despite having recently started my seventh decade of life). Then I went to pay for our condo, and then I went to see if certain keys in my possession would open a certain 10 x 20 storage compartment and a certain postal cluster box.

It eventually turned out that I had the right storage key, but when I found two copies of what had to be our cluster box key, and neither worked, I called the post office to test a hypothesis (if neither key works, the lock has been changed). It turns out that, contrary to what our tenants told us (they had their own PO box and would not require our cluster box), they nevertheless asked to have their mail delivered to the cluster box, and so the post office came out and replaced the lock, which is why neither of my keys work.

Alas, I suspect I'll probably be talking quite a bit about these tenants in the weeks to come, but I shall also remain hopeful that recent developments reflect exceptions and not the rule.

At any rate, the, um, "good" news—according to the person I spoke with downtown—is that my order to stop forwarding mail to New York (which I put in several days ago) has not yet gone into effect, so it's unlikely any of our recent mail has been delivered to the cluster box.

In other news, I got the go-ahead to do a 20,000-word project with a rather long due date, and another 9,000 words or so due late next week. March still has a chance to be a half-decent month, billings-wise.

Cheers...
