The air that snuck in through the open door as I let the dogs out a few minutes ago prompted me to stick a thermometer outside for a bit, just to see how cold it was.

After the numbers stabilized, the device reported 31.3°F (-0.389°C).

B-r-r-r-r!

For out neck of the woods (and particularly with us being pretty close to water, i.e., less than 5 klicks from Galveston Bay), that's cold!

Part 3 of 3 went out the door this morning, which took a huge load off my mind.

Among other things, it will force me to reconsider my limitations, or at least make me aware of the hazards of, in effect, agreeing to invest large numbers of hours over a short period of days. Everything turned out well, in the end, but overcommitting in one area—even if it's the area that pulls in the green—is not going to help me improve in other areas, which I have targeted for attention under the slogan of "it's not how much you make, it's how much you get to keep."

Tai chi again underscored my need to not only get a clear mental understanding of what it means to be relaxed—i.e., to attain a physical state in which one's body is neither rigid nor "collapsed"—but also to attain some measure of "physical" understanding (in the sense of having my body relax).

Cheers...
