Slow out of the gate...
Sep. 8th, 2014 07:37 pm...although that got fixed "toot sweet" upon opening the mail. There, I found a letter from a government agency that, as it turned out after I calmed down a bit and thought things through, had nowhere near the import one might normally associate with such correspondence, although I'm clearly going to have to jump through some hoops to make the problem go away. That said, I'm rather happy I managed to unharsh my mellow relatively quickly, and while I haven't the slightest inclination to "practice" this activity (the whole "calming down" thing), it wouldn't hurt to get "better" at it. (That's part of why I'm doing tai chi.)
In other news, there really is no news. I managed to get about half the back yard mowed before the heat started to get to me. I had lunch with a colleague. Some work came in today, but not enough.
Apropos of which, according to a document I received a few days before going on vacation, which listed submission deadlines for what were, at the time, upcoming documents that would require translation, six or seven were to have hit my inbox early last week (which lead me to expect a never-ending stream of work while in Mexico), and another half dozen should have arrived by now. Only two of the promised documents have crossed my path so far.
And when one factors in the fact that (a) we're a quarter of the way through the month, and (b) my end client's fiscal year ends this month—well, I'm thinking I better get all the rest I can now!
