All sorts of everything...
Jul. 22nd, 2015 10:03 pmNatalie and I met with Feht yesterday, after eventually straightening out where said meeting was to be. I understood him to say it was a brew pub on 160, while he meant a place downtown on the side of the street opposite the humane society thrift shop.
As Feht is one of those individuals who goes abroad without a cell phone, you can imagine the hilarity that followed.
We eventually got together and gabbed for a while, and agreed to get together again on Friday.
Some of the Routine Stuff™ came in yesterday morning and I took care of the most pressing item, leaving the other part for just a little while ago, which provided additional much-needed relief from me beating myself up for the poor basic design of my "road warrior" setup. The first dose of said relief was administered this morning, with today's Routine Stuff™, which arrived rather early, where I managed to send back a translation of the fairly short but urgent item (~1000 words) in a fairly smooth and workmanlike manner after having set myself up in the local coffee shop.
Later in the morning, Natalie and I took another look at our storage unit, but it really does get too hot after a while to stand there and think about triage, i.e., what to keep, what to donate, and what to simply throw out, so we eventually found our way to Drew's, where Natalie continued in her 5-6 hour campaign (which had spread out over a couple of days) to rid Huntur's laptop of malware. Most of the items gave up the ghost rather quickly and effortlessly, but what had originally looked like some ferociously tenacious code that had dug its heels into the OS and resisted all of Natalie's efforts finally got kicked off the machine, doubtless sniffling and whining.
Natalie's computer-fu is strong, but I already knew that. :)
More to look forward to tomorrow.
Cheers...
