I got up early, as usual, and put in a few hours on my presentation before going to the store for the rest of the day. Today was the ski area's first official day of operation, and Drew was hell-bent on being among the first on the slopes. Who am I to say no?

The presentation is coming along much slower than I anticipated, since some approaches to the subject (Cyrillic fonts and understanding encodings) do not work out so well in practice as they do initially on paper. Tomorrow, I also need to move the PowerPoint presentation from my desktop to my laptop, to make sure I don't run into any unexpected font problems (ahem).

After an indifferent dinner (pork scraps and cheese ravioli), we settled down to watch the lobotomy tube, finding a rather unusual flic on the Sundance channel called Uzumaki, a disturbing film about spirals, and one I would place in the horror genre. I lost interest in the story, though, and dozed off.

I'm still tired. Better get some rest.

Cheers...

A disturbing film about spirals? That's both intriguing and bizarre.

Tell me about it.

If I had been a bit more conscious, I probably would have watched more attentively. In any event, I figured this was the Sundance Channel's bow to Halloween night, and I've got to say I found it more palatable than the ripper/shredder/slasher trash that's been broadcast seemingly endlessly on the other channels (not that I've watched it... the program listings were enough to turn me off).

Cheers...
