A candidate for political office in South Carolina uttered the following words, in an outburst intended to disparage his opponent:
Clue: This was given almost no attention in the national media.
(The clue gives it away, doesn't it? The speaker is Senate candidate Alex Sanders, a Democrat.)

"He is an ultra-liberal. He supports gay rights. He supports banning all handguns, he supports abortion, his wife kicked him out and he moved in with two gay men and a Shih Tzu. Is that South Carolina values? I don't think so."Question: Is the candidate who made these anti-gay, anti-pro-choice remarks a Republican or Democrat?

Date: 2002-11-04 12:00 pm (UTC)The Texas elections have been horrendous this year, because everyone's using footage of the other guy getting arrested or pulled over by the cops, pulling out the Enron card and whatnot. I have never seen such ads in my whole life. I may vote straight down the Green Party/Libertarian side of the ballot this year, regardless of the few qualms I have about them. They at least have shown some decency.
"His wife kicked him out and he moved in with two gay men and a Shih-Tzu!" There's something utterly over the top about that. I think I will steal this phrase and but it to better use somehow.
