[...] and hardly does it sound like a translation from russian. Russians have a lack of feeling in their language, but yet this text smacks of pure english.I think the writer is mistaken with regard to his assessment of the Russian language, and that takes away from the overall effect, but still...

Re 'gradients' (your earlier post). I must say I looked on Google... (ever curious, me). It sounded odd to 'use' gradients in the sense 'the measurement of a slope', but in the sense of 'grading' it seemed more or less feasible.
