Chasin' after myself...
Dec. 12th, 2000 06:56 amGalina went over to the Pearland house yesterday, and it turns out that the primer I slathered on the walls didn't do the job either. In fact, she claims that she and Lee put a second coat of primer on the wall, but that the intense colors left by the previous occupants kept coming through.
I wish I knew the brand of paint they used.
On other fronts, when I stopped by the office yesterday to drop off my invoice for the first part of December, I got hold of my proposed schedule for the rest of the month. I'd volunteered to work holidays through New Year's day, knowing that people are going to want to have time off, and preferring to bill my time rather than sit around the house.
This is not a "Bah, humbug!" attitude...it's me trying to build up a wave of cash flow for January.
It's a pretty ambitious schedule. As of yesterday at 5 pm, I did have the whole of the 27th off, and that's it for free time. One of the other interpreters who'll be working on Christmas suggested that all of us lurking within the MCC on that day show up in tuxes and evening gowns, if only to be able to celebrate a little in the gaps between comm passes.
I like the idea.
I also need to get a move on, and get to work.
Cheers...
