One of the several positive aspects of being half a world away from home, in Kazakhstan, is that I am the first of the family to be able to wish my daughter a happy birthday on her birthday (still a little over four minutes away in Texas!).

Here's a shot I took of a father-daughter moment in front of the Pearland house at the end of November.
